2025.7.25 – “Tenjin Festival Zero Garbage Operation 2025 – Volunteer Activity” (Job Hunting Seminar)

One of Japan’s three major festivals, the “Osaka Tenjin Festival,” attracts large crowds and is filled with lively night stalls. Amidst the bustling atmosphere, 20 students from J International school, mainly from the Business class, participated as volunteers in the 6th “Zero Garbage Operation”—an initiative that promotes an eco-system based on Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle.

On the day of the main event, July 25, after finishing morning classes, everyone gathered at the site. Together with Japanese volunteer leaders and staff, they held discussions, cooperated with one another, and carried out activities for three hours. They were divided into four eco-stations, each taking responsibility for their operation.

Despite the sweltering heat, mosquito bites, and a growing crowd due to the evening’s firework display, the volunteers were deeply inspired by the purpose of the activity and the passion and sincerity of the other participants. This naturally motivated them to actively engage and speak up, asking people to sort their garbage correctly.

It turned out to be a valuable experience to develop teamwork, initiative, responsibility, environmental awareness, and Japanese communication skills.
