2024.7.23 “Welcoming a guest speaker” (Job Hunting Seminar)
We invited Mr. Daiki Hakoishi, a human resources manager at Okumura Engineering Corporation, a company that handles many public works projects with reliable technology and a proven track record in the construction industry, to speak about the construction industry and the future of foreign human resources. We learned not only the differences in vocabulary such as architecture, construction, and civil engineering, but also about the various types of work and jobs in the industry. Also, his detailed explanation on how companies and the industry itself contribute to the society deepened our understanding. We used to have a vague understanding of this type of work before, but we saw potential in this industry and found it attractive through his lecture. The time with him seemed to go by so quickly. Mr. Hakoishi shared what he had discovered, learned out of experiencing many types of job in various sections of the company since he started as a new graduate, and how he had made the best use of it and what really mattered for him. We could know the professional and ethical values of being a business person in Japan and the intention of membership-type employment applied in Japanese compapanies. Based on his presentation we are going to make a presentation on the given assignment in the mid-September.
