2024.10.23 “Welcoming a guest speaker” (Job Hunting Seminar)
We welcomed Mr. Fumitaka Echizen of AVANCE Corporation, a company that provides consulting services for hiring and training personnel in the service industry, to talk about what “Omotenashi” means in the Japanese service industry (hotels, restaurants, and hospitality).
Mr. Echizen, who started his career in the hotel industry, gave us various examples of what hospitality means. He also told us about the current situation in which foreign employees are practicing true hospitality, not just in form, on a daily basis at hotels around Japan. Mr. Echizen is also working on improving the environment for workers (making the environment easy for workers to work in). That was beneficial for the students who are looking for jobs to know what to look for in companies. Since many of our students are trying to find jobs in the service industry, many questions were asked, and it was a very informative time.
