2024.7.24 “Zero Waste Project at Tenjin Matsuri” (Job Hunting Seminar)

Osaka Tenjin Matsuri is one of the three major festivals in Japan. Fireworks and night stalls are the most popular part of the festival…. Many students from our Business Class participated in a volunteer activity that was intended to make the festival clean and enjoyable by implementing “Zero Waste Project”. The purpose of this project was to reduce a lot of wastes and utilize the eco-system of reuse, reduce, and recycle.

On the 24th, the day of Yoimiya(the eve of the festival), we gathered at the site after our morning classes and joined many Japanese people, including volunteer leaders and staff, to discuss, cooperate, and take charge of three eco-stations for three hours, from preparation to operation.

Despite hot and humid weather and being bitten by mosquitoes, we were so impressed by the purpose of the activity and the enthusiasm and earnestness of the participants that we naturally became enthusiastic and call out to people in a loud voice.

It was a valuable experience for us to develop our teamwork, ability to take action, sense of responsibility, environmental awareness, and communication skills in Japanese.
